RND 3 2024 | HOBIE FISHING AUSTRALIA | GLENELG RIVER

Bream Master South Australia held its third round for the 2024 season down at Nelson on the
Glenelg River on April 6th-7 th . Our major sponsor for the event was Hobie Fishing Asia Pacific and we had forty-one keen anglers from across the country hit the water. With the mouth closed and the water level higher than usual, there was plenty of fishy looking water for anglers to target.

Day 1 began in glorious weather conditions as anglers shot off the start line to their fishing locations. An even split of anglers hit the front of the system or ventured up river. At the completion of day 1, we had some amazing bags weighed in. Leading the way was Victorian angler Mitch McMaster at 2.68kg. Close behind in second place was Dylan Pace and SA angler Joshua Bland sitting in third at 2.49kg. Ryan Newman sat in fourth at 2.43kg and rounding out
the top five was Nathan Wright at 2.34kg. We had a total of ninety bream weighed in by anglers for the day which was a record for a BMSA competition at the time.

Our second day on the water had a wet and windy start but all anglers rugged up and got stuck into the fish! Some outstanding bags were weighed in with the weather seeming to help fire the fish up. Our 2024 Glenelg River champion angler was Dylan Pace with an exceptional day 2 bag of 3.09kg to total up at 5.71kg. Mitch McMaster slipped down to take second place with a day 2 bag of 2.75kg to weigh a total at 5.43kg. Nathan Wright moved up the leaderboard with a
big 2.96kg day 2 bag to slide into third place with a total weight of 5.30kg. Fourth place went to Paul Cook at 4.97kg and Ryan Newman in fifth at 4.89kg. The BerleyPro Big Bream award went to Dylan Pace for a 1.14kg brute. Anglers broke the day 1 record of total fish weighed in, with the new record set at 99 bream for the second day.

As event organisers we would like to thank all the anglers who made the effort to attend, coming from as far as northern New South Wales and eastern Victoria as well as Adelaide. The BMSA season will hold its fourth round at the Onkaparinga River on Sunday August 11 th 2024, please visit our website at Breammastersa.au or our Facebook page for future updates.
