RND 4 2024 | OKUMA | ONKAPARINGA RIVER

The final round of the 2024 Bream Master SA season was held at the Onkaparinga River on Sunday August 11 th . A dozen kayaks launched on sunrise in the hope of landing a few bream on lures to bring
back to the live weigh-ins at 2pm. The weather conditions were almost too perfect with glassed out water and clear skies. One big positive is that the tide was peaking in the early morning which would encourage fish to move up onto the edges and flats to feed.

During the early morning, a few nice fish were caught with Ben Harrison and Gavin Howard both getting a kilo sized fish. The weigh-ins had a buzz of excitement when every angler came back in as most returned with fish to be weighed. Joshua Bland secured first place to be crowned  Onkaparinga River Champion for the first time. With the win, Josh also became the back-to-back Bream Master SA Angler of the Year. Josh caught an exceptional bag of three bream weighing in at 2.67kg. All of his
fish were caught on Daiwa soft plastics.

Second place went to Ben Harrison with a bag weight of 2.36kg and third place went to previous years Onkaparinga champion Ryan Ottens with 1.88kg. The BerleyPro Big Bream award went to Gavin Howard with a giant 1.13kg bream that was caught on a
Daiwa BaitJunkie Flick.

The team at Bream Masters SA would like to thank all of our generous sponsors and anglers for their support this year as without it we couldn’t run such great events.

We are looking forward to next years season with much excitement and further details can be found on Facebook under our page at “Bream Master SA – Southern Fishing Tournaments”.
